About the event
Join us for a scenic 8-mile circular walk through some of Gloucestershire’s most beautiful countryside! We’ll explore Painswick Beacon, Painswick, Cranham, and Cooper’s Hill — which you might know from the annual cheese rolling event.
Length of Walk:
Approximately 8 miles.
Grade: Moderate–Hard
This walk is graded Moderate–Hard and requires a good level of fitness due to sustained hill walking and significant ascent throughout the route. Starting from Cranham, the walk explores the beautiful Cotswold countryside, following a mix of woodland paths, field tracks, and open hilltop sections, with repeated climbs and descents.
The walk covers approximately 8 miles (13 km) with around 1,700 ft (520 m) of ascent. The route includes woodland trails, countryside paths, open fields, and Cotswold hilltops, with uneven ground throughout.
