Walking the Hills

Liability Waiver Form

Note: In the email you received, this form was called the “Participant Declaration.” It is now correctly titled “Liability Waiver” to reflect that it covers both confirmation of fitness and acknowledgment of the risks involved in the walk. Thank you. Sarah

Walk Selection

I understand that hill and countryside walking, as well as other outdoor activities, involve inherent risks including slips, trips, falls, adverse weather, injury, property damage, and in rare cases, death. I choose to take part with full awareness of these risks and accept all responsibility for any loss, injury, or death that may occur.

I acknowledge that Walking the Hills, its organisers, leaders, assistants, and volunteers are not liable for any accident, injury, loss, or damage arising from my participation. I waive any claims against them in this respect.

I agree to follow all instructions and decisions made by walk leaders or volunteers regarding my safety and the safety of the group. If I decide to ignore this guidance, I accept full responsibility for any resulting consequences.

If I choose, for any reason, not to continue on the planned walk route, I understand that I will be responsible for making my own way back.

I will carry a completed In Case of Emergency (ICE) form during the walk, including relevant medical information, allergies, medications, and emergency contacts. I will inform the walk leader before the walk of any information needed to help ensure my safety.

I confirm that I have an appropriate level of fitness for the walk I am joining and that the emergency information I provide is accurate and up to date.
